Starting out at The Evergreen State College, Budd Bay's women's team has had a rich history. In 1999, Coach Trevor Anderson fielded a fresh, inexperienced yet driven side of women to launch the first women's team - the Evergreen Hellkatz. As their team became more regional, recruiting women from Tacoma, Chehalis and Seattle, the Evergreen team consolidated their competitive efforts as the Budd Bay Women's team in 2002. A number of these early recruits helped form the Budd Bay Steelheads, our U19 women that is a respected opponent on the national stage.
In 2005, the Budd Bay Women's team picked up speed once again. With a new collective of rugby-hungry women, the senior women's team became the Budd Bay Bandits. By 2009, the Bandits earned their space on the DI scene through hard work and competing well against fierce, national championship level opponents. This year, the Bandits once again step up on the pitch, taking on teams from Arizona, California, Washington and Oregon and competing for a shot at a national title. Come on out!
