Update on Parker's Pitch

Good afternoon all,

I have recently agreed to take on the role of Property Development for the club. I wanted to provide a quick update on the status of Parker's Pitch, and a call for help from our rugby community.

Currently we are responding to the county on some issues so that we may move forward with our permits. I expect to have all questions answered in next 2 weeks. The next step will be to clean up and clear out all buildings except the garage and pump house. We will then be tearing down, by hand, hammer and chainsaw, all buildings except the garage. Going into fall, I hope to start clearing land.

As soon as the county gives the thumbs up, I will be looking for volunteers to fall trees and clear land. Most importantly, we will be fundraising and coordinating resources. This is where we need YOUR HELP

If anyone has ideas or is willing to assist please contact me at:
360-292-9648 or oznorg@buddbayrugby.com
Thank you,
Chris Gronzo

Vision Update

BBRFC Has Purchased a Field!

The Budd Bay Rugby Football Club's Board of Directors is very pleased to announce that on Tuesday, March 18th, 2014, Budd Bay Rugby purchased a plot of land which will be the site of our future pitch! The property - at 7740 Prine Road SW, Tumwater Washington 98512 - will eventually house our club gear, a field, and a clubhouse or caretaker house. The Board is very excited to take this tremendous step towards realizing our club's vision of owning our own field! We now own the land, we just need to turn it in to a field!

Of course, that still leaves us with a lot of work ahead (some might argue the hardest part is still ahead!). The land is undeveloped wilderness, the buildings old and in disrepair, and there is a significant amount of labor and money between the current plot and realizing our long term vision. But this step in the right direction is very exciting.

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements in relation to the new property. An Open House is tentatively scheduled for mid-April, committees are being formed to further plan our next steps, and work parties are being schedule for most of the weekends over the next two years! We hope you all join us in our excitement about the opportunities that this purchase presents for the club, and are busy thinking of ways you can help us get to our final Vision.

On May 9, 2009, Budd Bay RFC kicked off its official effort toward realizing the dream - owning our very own pitch and clubbouse to serve rugby and other sporting interests in our community.

Our fist banquet was a huge success. Over 80 people attended the affair and all were excited to see us finally take that step. On hand were a number of the clubs founders - Trevor Anderson, Tim Housh, Dan Santana and Mike Steenhout - to witness the Founders Vision set into motion. We are on our way.
