1998/1999 Season:
Following are the results of Olympia RFC's first ever season. Our record was ultimately 0-8, but there were plenty of bright spots.

October 3, 1998
Olympia at Peninsula
Score: PRFC 39 ORFC 0
Captain: Tim Housh
Olympia Player of the Game: Brandon Campbell, Prop

A spirited game played in a downpour, Olympia held Peninsula to only 12 points in the middle 60 minutes. Lack of teamwork foiled our attempts to score and made for some sloppy player early and late in the game.

October 10, 1998
Corvallis at Olympia
Corvallis 17 ORFC 14
Captain: Scott Corsi
Tries: Skylar Pond (2)
Conv.: Greg Varnell (2)
Player of the Game: Skylar Pond, Center

A very close game that could well have been won were it not for some discipline breakdowns.

October 17, 1998
Olympia at Eugene
Forfeit
Eugene 21 ORFC 0
Due to injuries, ORFC could not supply a full side for this game.

November 27, 1998
Bend at Olympia
Bend 27 Olympia 0
Captain: Scott Corsi
Player of the Game: Shel Arensen, Lock

On a very rainy day against easily the best team in the league, Olympia held its own. Bend had difficulty putting together multi-phase play, but did capitalize on some Olympia mistakes to run in five tries.

March 6, 1999
Peninsula at Olympia
PRFC 29 ORFC 7
Captain: Alex Goff
Player of the Game: Scott Corsi, Number 8/Wing
Tries: Trevor Anderson
Conversions: Vu Williams

A much improved game compared to the earlier match versus Peninsula. Lack of quality ball meant the backs spent much of the day on defense.

April 3, 1999
Olympia at Bend
Bend 107 Olympia 5
Captain: Tim Housh
Player of the Game: Dan Santana, Prop
Tries: Eli Waite

Shorthanded due to injuries and professional commitments, Olympia nevertheless made the trip to Bend. Bend for their part were appreciative of the effort and very hospitable, except for the scoreline.

April 17, 1999
Eugene at Olympia
Eugene 35 Olympia 14
Captain: Alex Goff
Player of the Game: Dan Santana, Prop
Tries: Joseph Kuehnast (2)
Conversions: Greg Varnell, Alex Goff

A bitter disappointment. We really felt we could win this one, but our teamwork again suffered. We also fell victim to Eugene's stunningly accurate placekicker.

May 8, 1999
Olympia at Eugene
Corvallis 31 Olympia 12
Player of the Game: Shane Lidman, Prop
Tries: Shane Lidman, Trevor Anderson
Conversions: Greg Varnell

Olympia's core of experienced players has developed into a team that scrummages very well and is dangerous in attack. Loose ball retention and teamwork remain issues, as seen from this game. "We should truly have dominated this team," said Trevor Anderson.
